The ants...
... on my cup and saucer set was featured on gizmodo.com yesterday.
i was wondering why {suddenly} the ant sets and cups were selling one after the other, until it sadly sold out!
more sets will be available soon.

I would like to share this:
I was going over my boxes filled with old photographs and scraps I've collected through out my years here in the U.S. for inspiration. I came across a poem I had printed out when I had finished reading one of Paulo Coelho's books. (I don't remember which one - I've read all of them! The poem was quoted.)
The poem meant a lot to me back then...
I had forgotten about it until now. It's funny how {things} work. Life, timing, mean to be's...
ITHAKA
As you set out for Ithaka
hope your road is a long one,
full of adventure, full of discovery.
Laistrygonians, Cyclops,
angry Poseidon - don't be afraid of them:
you'll never find things like that one on your way
as long as you keep your thoughts raised high,
as long as a rare excitement
stirs your spirit and your body.
Laistrygonians, Cyclops,
wild Poseidon - you won't encounter them
unless you bring them along inside your soul,
unless your soul sets them up in front of you.
Hope your road is a long one.
May there be many summer mornings when,
with what pleasure, what joy,
you enter harbours you're seeing for the first time;
may you stop at Phoenician trading stations
to buy fine things,
mother of pearl and coral, amber and ebony,
sensual perfumes of every kind -
as many sensual perfumes as you can;
and may you visit many Egyptian cities
to learn and go on learning from their scholars.
Keep Ithaka always in your mind.
Arriving there is what you're destined for.
But don't hurry the journey at all.
Better if it lasts for years,
so you're old by the time you reach the island,
wealthy with all you've gained on the way,
not expecting Ithaka to make you rich.
Ithaka gave you the marvellous journey.
Without her you wouldn't have set out.
She has nothing left to give you now.
And if you find her poor, Ithaka won't have fooled you.
Wise as you will have become, so full of experience,
you'll have understood by then what these Ithakas mean

Last night...
Neil Young at the Madison Square Garden 12.15.2008
First thing we did was get (foot long) hot dogs and nachos (extra cheese). I don't know what it is about concert/game junk food craving... but even with the knowledge that they taste like c*&%$p and costs "the eyeballs of my face" (brazilian expression) I was so excited to get them...
The venue was quite empty when Everest came out. I have to admit, I had never heard of them - nor did everybody around me because they would tell each other: Oh, it's Evergreen playing now. - Yeah, I know them! It's Everclear! - I heard them on the radio today, it's Edelweiss.
The seats were filled up pretty quickly by the time Wilco was on. Ohhh, they were great!...
I was mesmerized.
Many people were there for Wilco only, so they left right afterwards.
Older, I assume. Late 50's. But they exuded youth... Teenage boys, playing air guitar.
Neil Young was amazing.

and finally, Neil Young. Obviously, the crowd went nuts.
I was very entertained by a few men seating close to us. So passionate - They'd stand up and sing out loud, eyes closed, gesturing with their hands like they were preaching about a miracle.Older, I assume. Late 50's. But they exuded youth... Teenage boys, playing air guitar.
Neil Young was amazing.

New Limoges Four Seasons Set!
Sunday, November 23, 2008
My Newest OBSESSION
Where have you been all my life?...
I've been searching for oil burners/diffusers for a while now... I recently purchased a few great essential oils (eucalyptus, peppermint and vanilla...)
To be honest, I'm not very fond of the oil burners available out there... I tried and tried to like them or find something simple with not too many moons and stars (no offense, i love moons and stars)... Sadly, nothing appealed to me... until...
(ta-da!)
i came across this "tart" warmer on ebay:
and I was the lucky winner!
So I went to their (redwing) website and discovered that I can get it in different designs and shapes!
I want it all!!! warmers, pitchers, bowls, everything! :)

Update
It's now 9:20 pm est.
baileydoesntbark has been released from captivity! (...yay...)
rejinlee is still under negotiations...
What I've done so far:
1) Followed all of these instructions:
i. Downloaded ClamXav
and scanned every single thing in this computer, including my website folders.
ii. Downloaded LittleSnitch
(to be completely honest with you, i have a very blurred idea of what it does because i'm computer illiterate. as long as it says it helps. i'm down.)
2) Created a master password and turned on the FileVault I had NO idea existed.
3) Changed all my passwords.
Mind you, I probably deleted files I shouldn't have but whatever came up in my search when I typed in the bunch of letters/numbers/symbols these websites list to delete, I TRASHED FOREVER.
What I've NOT done so far:
1) Go to the post office to ship orders. sorry guys.... one day delay :(
2) Work on new designs.
3) Be productive.
I recommend everybody who owns a MAC to run a virus scan once in a while (since we never do, relying on the fact that MACs are safe).
I've been hacked twice and this proves to me that either:
1) I have amnesia and clicked on obvious virus infected links, banners, websites and forgot about it.
or
2) ... I don't know, I forgot!
goodnight
p.s. if you are aware of any help for mac users to prevent this from happening, please let us know!
(please note: i DO NOT claim that the information i'm giving out is the solution and/or prevention. PLEASE research. i'm only sharing my experience.)

HACKERS I HATE YOU SO MUCH I COULD STOP EATING CHOCOLATE
As you may know,
both my websites:
baileydoesntbark and rejinlee,
have been hacked...
a-g-a-i-n.
Apparently my websites were "injected" with "malware". What they did was install a key logger in my computer (?!?) to have access to everything I type. i.e. passwords!!!!!!! That way, they got my FTP password and "injected" these "malwares" into my websites. grrrrr.
There's something about GOOGLE (unintentionally) being a source of the virus/hack attack as well. BEWARE of weird links on Google search page. (I read that there was a "google tips" link right under the search box and that lead to bad sites.)
Everything has been removed, fixed, altered and protected from my end and my hosts (which by the way, did not help me very much... this is the second host i'm trying... it's not very fun to switch hosts and i would love not to have to go thru that again)...
Now, I'm just waiting for GOOGLE
to
REMOVE
that HORRIBLE warning page OFF my website. (Google, do you hear me?)
The frustrating part is that I don't know how long that will take. I managed to speak with one person from Google in Chicago since the headquarters makes it impossible to reach a REAL person. But she had NO IDEA how to help me (to be fair, she tried: thank you!).
I apologize for those who have tried to visit my website and have encountered the warning page.
According to the google webmaster, my websites have not passed on any virus.
However, if you are concerned, run a virus scan, and if you own a mac like me (which makes it harder to find info to fix these sort of things, since mac is supposedly: untouchable) check out ClamXav.
Anyway, I'm terrible at these things: computer technical terms, virus and/or hacker words, etc etc.
I'm probably confusing you.
If you're concerned,
google (ahah, how ironic) 2009 antivirus.
You'll find better explanations.
My websites are labeled : "bad"
grrrrrrrrrrrr
I ask that you're patient and hopefully this will be solved in a timely manner.
Thank you very much for all your support.
x, Hacker Hater
P.S. Dear Hackers, what's the point?

Mr. Rat's Silhouette Portrait
So, Mr. Rat says he is very into the silhouette portrait trend.
He adds, I'm also quite fond of {vintage} porcelain!
I say, Well well Mr. Rat, why not a silhouette portrait of you on a beautiful vintage plate!
Mr. Rat grins and happily says: Well well... why not?

My website right now looks like this:
UPDATE!!!
.WARNING.
BOTH MY WEBSITES HAVE BEEN HACKED (FOR THE SECOND TIME, GEEEEEEZ), HENCE THE NOTICE ABOVE.
PLEASE CHECK THIS LINK FOR MORE INFORMATION REGARDING THIS VIRUS - ANTIVIRUS 2009.
I had to manually delete the "malicious" files and just downloaded ClamXav.
I also had to change my passwords to my FTP's.
Do not worry if you have visited my site recently. It did not pass on any virus and wont as all has been cleaned out. (The notice may still appear as google is reviewing it as we speak)
No wonder every time I updated my site, it would switch words all the time... like someone was playing a game with me. i.e. I write "apple"... on the site appears "banana"...
GET OFF MY BACK, you hacker f... (sorry for the language, i'm so angry.)
I did not click on anything suspicious or any Anti Virus removal banner/ad...
I have no idea how they managed to get in...

The Bees Buzz
the bees are here to keep company to the ants ;)
my {fondest} memory of a bee?
back in brazil, high school, circa 1995:
i was drinking my favorite soda (guarana! yes! brazilian soda) out of a can waiting for the taxi to arrive and take us home. (the school buses were on strike).
i here the buzz, you know, and notice a bee trying to share the drink with me. i start running around - the arm holding the soda stretched out. looking from far away, you'd think i was chasing the soda can.
it managed to dive into the guarana.
i'm sure you're familiar with the {desperado} sound of a bee drowning in a soda can.
it's heart breaking.
so, i get a straw and save it from the sugary waves of death.
the taxi finally arrives.
i'm happy with what's left of my guarana.
start sipping away and as the car takes off...
OUCH!!!
WT@&$*!
the bee, despite me having saved it from death, stung me on the back of my neck.
I could not believe it.
If followed me into the taxi...
